3787876 - The File name appears differently for users when the Canvas report is exported.

Symptom

When a Canvas report is exported or edited, the page/component name is displayed differently for different users. Some users see the page name with a"Copy" suffix, while others do not see the suffix. This results in inconsistent component names across users viewing the same report.

Environment

  • Product: SAP SuccessFactors Platform
  • Advanced Reporting (ODS)

Reproducing the Issue

  • Open the Canvas report in edit mode.
  • Click on the page name.
  • Log in as a user whose locale is configured as US.
  • Observe that the page name contains the"Copy" suffix.
  • Log in as a user whose locale is configured as GB (UK).
  • Observe that the page name does not contain the"Copy" suffix.
  • Compare the page/component names displayed for both users. The names differ based on the locale configuration.

Cause

The page/component name is locale-dependent. Different localized page names are maintained for different locales.

  • Users with US locale see the page name maintained for the US locale, which includes the"Copy" suffix.
  • Users with GB (UK) locale see the page name maintained for the UK locale, where the suffix is not defined.

As a result, the component name appears differently depending on the user's maintained locale.

Resolution

  1. To ensure all users see the same component/page name:

    1. Open the page in edit mode.
    2. Edit the page name.
    3. Select the required locale(s).
    4. Maintain a consistent page name across all relevant locales.
    5. Save and republish the report if applicable.

    By aligning the page name translations/localizations across locales, all users will see the same component name regardless of their locale settings. 

    Example:

    • User locale = US → Page name displays with"Copy" suffix.
    • User locale = GB (UK) → Page name displays without"Copy" suffix.

    Maintaining identical page names for both locales eliminates the discrepancy
