3787879 - onInit rule to set up Business email type record is not working correctly in Onboarding page - Onboarding

Symptom

An onInit rule is created to insert "Business" email type record (Scenario: Rules for Hire/Rehire Processes) when there is no such record exists, in order to notify HR user to maintain the business email for candidate during New Hire Data Review step.

However, after submitting New Hire Data Review, the Business Email Address that was manually maintained becomes empty in UI again when the candidate moves to the next step e.g. Personal Data Collection (PDC) or Manage Pending Hires (MPH).

Meanwhile, below behaviors are observed:

  • In Change Audit Report and Integration Center, the business email record is found already saved in the system.
  • In rule trace logs of PDC/MPH page, the condition checking Business email type record is still evaluated as "null" even if it's saved in the system.
  • The same behavior occurs for all fields with similar onInit rules.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
