In ASE to ASE replication (MSA) environment, after running commands below on both sites,

set replication off
go
use <dbname>
go                                                 
alter table dbo.<tablename> add notes varchar(255) NULL
go

SRS log starts to report error below,

T. (917): (HQ Error) Column '<col_name>' missing in target table '<table_name>'.
I. Retry of a grouped transaction of 212 individual transactions has failed in database '<servername>.<dbname>'. It will be broken into smaller groups and retried.
I. Retry of a grouped transaction of 72 individual transactions has succeeded in database '<servername>.<dbname>'.
I. Retry of a grouped transaction of 70 individual transactions has succeeded in database '<servername>.<dbname>'.
