3787938 - Joule data retrieval failure in S/4HANA landscape with Web Dispatcher and Cloud Connector

Symptom

After configuring Joule with Cloud Connector and validating principal propagation through Web Dispatcher, Joule does not function as expected when the Web Dispatcher hostname is used in the Cloud Connector mapping (Virtual System → Internal System).

The issue is characterized by the following behavior:

  • Joule does not return responses that require data retrieval from the S/4HANA backend.
  • Backend data is not fetched when the Web Dispatcher hostname is maintained in the Cloud Connector mapping.
  • When the SAP S/4HANA application server hostname is used instead of the Web Dispatcher hostname, Joule responds correctly and backend data is returned as expected.
