3787955 - “Display Extract” remains selected as the default data source in Report Writer or Report Painter reports

Symptom

When executing a Report Writer or Report Painter report, the data source is displayed as Display Extract instead of New Selection.

The behavior can occur after a user selects Display Extract and then executes the report again in a later session.

The user may observe the following:

  • Display Extract remains selected after logging off and logging on again.
  • The data source does not automatically return to New Selection.
  • The user wants to restore New Selection as the default data source.
  • Administrators want to understand how the setting can be maintained for individual or multiple users.
