Symptom
When a Job Information or Compensation Information change is sent via API and a workflow is initiated, the workflow details and Rule Trace show the recurring Pay Component marked as deleted, but after workflow approval the Pay Component still remains in Compensation Information.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Perform an API upsert to update Job and Compensation Information that should delete a Recurring Pay Component.
- Allow the configured workflow to be initiated.
- Approve the workflow.
- Observe that the workflow details show the Pay Component as deleted.
- Navigate to Employee's Profile > Compensation Information portlet and confirm the previous Pay Component is not showing as deleted after approval.
Cause
This behavior occurs due to an unvalidated use case in the product.
Resolution
Engineering has confirmed the issue and confirmed a fix is planned and scheduled for delivery as part of the upcoming Product Release and Road Map Information in the second half of 2026.
- Preview Environment: October 12, 2026
- Production Environment: November 13-14, 2026.
As a workaround, the following processes remain working as expected and may be used to perform the required changes:
- Performing a change via Import to trigger the workflow.
- Performing a change via UI to trigger the workflow.
- Run API to perform the changes, without triggering a workflow.
