3788270 - Error in WarehouseStagingRequest_In on MES integration

Symptom

When a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) sends a WarehouseStagingRequest_In message to SAP EWM, the message fails in /SRT_MONI with the following:

Status: Erroneously processed / APPLICATION_ERROR

Message status: 117 - Appl_Error

Error log short text: "Fehler bei LANF-Erstellung für Bereitstellungsanforderung <staging request ID> aus MES <MES business system>" (Error during warehouse request creation for staging request <staging request ID> from MES <MES business system>)

Error location class: /SCWM/CL_STG_REQUEST==========CP

Error location method: /SCWM/CL_STG_REQUEST==========CM002

Exception type: /SCWM/CX_STG

Interface: /SCWM/II_BIF_STG_WHR_CR

The detailed application error message below is not visible directly in SRT_MONI. It is only found by checking the EWM application log (SLG1) or via a debug session on the processing method:

"Warehouse request document type / item type for MES could not be determined
/SCWM/MESINTEGRATION005"
