3788318 - Deleting dependents in the section does not update benefits employee profile

When deleting dependents in employee central benefits employee profile/enrollment process is not updated.

1. Go to the user’s profile.
2. Delete dependents in Personal Data > Dependents and save.
3. Open Benefits (enrollment/profile) and check Benefits Employee Profile: no record is created/updated to reflect the deletions.

A time slice created with zero dependents is not considered by the EC-to-Benefits sync, so no Benefits Employee Profile record is created and the deletions are not reflected in enrollment.

Engineering Team is working on identifying how best to address such cases and the corresponding code changes needed for the same.

In the meantime, we recommend the following workaround to ensure that the dependent data remains in sync.

1. Create a new time slice in the "benefits Employee Profile" with all dependents available in the last effective date
2. Then update the record by deleting all the dependents. This should mark all dependents as removed on the profile as well.

For any other users, where dependents need to be removed while preserving the history, please ensure the time slice is first synced to the profile before removing the dependents individually.
