Symptom
- Inquiry about performing rehire validation before initiating the onboarding process.
- When is the candidate eligible for rehire verification in Onboarding?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Resolution
- Use the Pre-Onboarding Rehire Verification (First Rehire Check) to validate whether a candidate is a former employee before any person, employment, or user records are created.
- Ensure the Hire/Rehire Configuration generic object is set with the desired match criteria. Supported combinations include:
First name and last name
First name and date of birth
Last name and date of birth
First name, last name, and date of birth
National ID - When a match is found against inactive (terminated) employee records, review the rehire verification task on the Data Review card and choose one of the following:
Rehire with New Employment
Rehire with Old Employment
Proceed as New Hire
Cancel Onboarding
Note: Rehire validation applies only to candidates with the employee status “Terminated.” If no match is found in the pre-onboarding check, an additional Onboarding Rehire Verification runs after the Personal Data Collection step.
