3788580 - Logic Behind the Error Message "The return order must contain at least one valid item"

• During the creation or replication of a Customer Return in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 (for example, from SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud), the following error message is displayed:
• "The return order must contain at least one valid item."

SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2

1.Create or replicate a Customer Return in SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2.
2.The system attempts to create the Return Order.
3.The process fails with the following error message  "The return order must contain at least one valid item"

The error occurs when the mandatory validation criteria for creating a Return Order are not fulfilled. The system validates the referenced Sales Order items before allowing the Return Order to be created.

For a Return Order to be created successfully, the following conditions must be met:

1. The Return Order must contain at least one item.
2. Each Return Order item must reference a valid Sales Order item.
3. The referenced Sales Order item must have the status Completed.
4. The referenced Sales Order item must not have a Reason for Rejection.

If any of the above conditions are not met, SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2 rejects the Return Order and displays the following error message:

"The return order must contain at least one valid item."

Verify that the referenced Sales Order items satisfy all of the above conditions before creating or replicating the Return Order.
