Symptom
- The system timestamp appears different from the local time.
- Saving Address Information with today’s effective date fails in the morning (local time) with a permission error.
- The same action succeeds in the afternoon without any configuration change.
- Error message: "Addresses - You do not have the necessary permission."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- Home Address - Config, Rules, RBP, UI
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in as a user with ESS permission to edit own Address Information.
- Navigate to Address Information.
- Create or edit an address record in the morning using today’s effective date.
- Observe the permission error and that saving is blocked.
- Repeat the same action in the afternoon.
- Observe that the record saves successfully.
Cause
The system’s internal time reference (for date evaluation) is behind the users’ local morning time, so “today” is classified as future-dated during morning hours, triggering a future-data permission check and denial.
