3788843 - Content Packages deletion using iContent management tool

Symptom

When a content package is selected for deletion in the iContent Management Tool, other packages that share the same SFTP folder are also scheduled for deletion, even though they were not explicitly selected.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the iContent Management tool.
  2. Select a content package (for example, pkg1) that shares the same SFTP folder as another content package (for example, pkg2).
  3. Observe that both pkg1 and pkg2 are scheduled for deletion because they reference the same SFTP folder.

Cause

The iContent Management Tool schedules deletion based on the SFTP folder reference. When a package is selected, all records pointing to the same folder are included in the deletion job.

Resolution

  • This is confirmed expected behavior - Whenever a content package is selected, all the respective records with the same folder will be scheduled for deletion.
  • A warning message (similar to active item association warnings) is planned to be implemented next release to alert administrators when selected files share an SFTP folder with other packages.
