Symptom
In the Project Cost Report (PCR) application:
-
Project stock cost values are displayed as 0 at the project level although child WBS elements contain project stock costs.
-
Commitment, Actual Cost, or other cost values appear inconsistent across hierarchy levels.
-
Project-level aggregated values disappear after selecting project currency-related columns.
-
Removing the project currency column does not immediately restore the original aggregation result.
-
Different values are displayed depending on the selected currency-related columns.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
This behavior is caused by using global currency and project currency columns together in the same Project Cost Report (PCR).
Because project stock records do not contain a Controlling Object Currency value, aggregation is split across different currency dimensions, which can cause project stock costs to appear as 0 and aggregated values to seem inconsistent.
Resolution
Do not use global currency-based columns together with project currency-based columns in the same Project Cost Report.
Recommended Usage
Use either:
Option 1
-
Global Currency columns only
or
Option 2
-
Project Currency columns only
Avoid combining both currency contexts within the same report layout.
Additional Information
The behavior is caused by the underlying aggregation mechanism of the analytical model.
Resolving the issue would require fundamental changes to the way Non-Hierarchical Aggregation handles mixed-currency scenarios and is therefore not planned.
