3789345 - Internal Error When Editing a New Hire's Recurring Pay Component in the Latest Edit and History UI

Symptom

  • Editing a new hire record's compensation pay component results in the error message "Internal Error".
  • The error occurs when adding or selecting a recurring pay component while editing a Hire event record from History.
  • The issue is reproducible only when "Enable the Latest Editing and History UI for Employee Central HRIS entities on Full Profile" is enabled; using legacy history allows the edit.
  • No business rules are captured during replication.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Ensure "Enable the Latest Editing and History UI for Employee Central HRIS entities on Full Profile" is enabled in Configure People Profile.
  2. Navigate to a user with a Hire record.
  3. Open Compensation Information history and edit the initial Hire record.
  4. Add a recurring pay component and attempt to select a pay component.
  5. Observe the "Internal Error".

Cause

An unsupported cross-element association was configured: jobInformation.company was associated to the Legal Entity field in the Pay Component Recurring element, which is not supported in the Latest Editing and History UI.

Resolution

  1. Review the configuration of the Pay Component Recurring element.
  2. Remove any cross-element association to jobInformation.company (for example, do not associate jobInformation.company to the Legal Entity field in Pay Component Recurring).
  3. Save the configuration and test editing/adding the recurring pay component again in the Latest Editing and History UI.
  4. If configuration changes cannot be applied immediately, temporarily use the legacy history by disabling "Enable the Latest Editing and History UI for Employee Central HRIS entities on Full Profile" until the configuration is corrected.
