3789602 - Error "No clearing accounts have been assigned to the overhead account &1" during Intercompany Allocation - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Error "No clearing accounts have been assigned to the overhead account &1" occurs when running allocation via app Run Allocations, or when clicking Check Cycle when viewing cycle details in app Manage Allocations.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Run Allocations app.
2. Select an allocation cycle configured for intercompany allocation that uses an overhead account as sender.
3. Start the allocation run.
4. Observe the error: "No clearing accounts have been assigned to the overhead account."

The posting scheme for the affected company code pair was set to Balance Sheet in SSCUI "Define Posting Scheme for Intercompany Clearing Accounts" (ID 107107) under Alternative Scheme for Selected Company Codes. This redirected processing to the Balance Sheet determination instead of the standard Nonoperating Expense or Income scheme used by CO intercompany clearing, resulting in the missing clearing account assignment for the overhead account.

1. Open SSCUI "Define Posting Scheme for Intercompany Clearing Accounts" (SSCUI 107107).
2. In section "Alternative Scheme for Selected Company Codes", locate the specific company code pair that is set to use the Balance Sheet scheme and causing the error.
3. Remove the entry for that company code pair (or change it so that the standard Nonoperating Expense or Income scheme is used).
4. Save the configuration and transport if required.
5. Ensure the CO intercompany clearing account is maintained in the Automatic Account Determination.
6. Re-run the intercompany allocation in the Run Allocations app and confirm the error no longer occurs.
