Symptom
- Learning connectors intermittently skip scheduled runs, resulting in multi-hour gaps. (For example, if a connector job is scheduled to run every hour, it occasionally skips some runs. A job executed at 10:00 AM UTC, but the subsequent expected run did not occur after the next hour, indicating skipped intervals.)
- The connector jobs sometimes fail with an error message referencing the Job Result ID (For example; Refer to the Job Result: 9nb1e34c-3492-78f8-18ff-13d53daea020).
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Validated Learning (LMSV)
Reproducing the Issue
- Sign in to the SuccessFactors system.
- Go to Learning Administration-> System Administration -> Connectors
- Select any Connector, and Click "View Results" to see the run details.
- Click "View Errors" to see the error.
Cause
- A defect in VSaaS pools caused out-of-memory conditions that prevented scheduled jobs from starting on time.
- Error observed internally: “java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create native thread: possibly out of memory or process/resource limits reached”.
Resolution
A code correction has been completed by learning engineering team, and the permanent fix is planned to be included in VSaaS 1H 2026 major release (version-b2605). Refer to the Learning Validated SaaS Release Schedule for date.
Temporary workaround:
- An alert has been added to an internal tool, and the operations team restarts the affected application node whenever this alert appears to restore normal scheduling.
