Symptom
- An error occurs when configuring service cost in Define Service Cost Levels - SSCUI 101000
- Error message: "Invalid namespace for Service Cost Level."
- Unable to load more service cost entries for resources.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Configure service cost for each resource role in IMG (Define Service Cost Level).
- Encounter the error message: "Invalid namespace for Service Cost Level."
- Attempt to load additional service cost entries for resources and the error persists.
Cause
The error is caused by namespace restrictions in SSCUI: digits 0, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and letters S, Q, R, P, X, Y are reserved for standard content and are not allowed for customer-defined keys.
In the configuration Define Service Cost Levels the SAP reserved numeric fields are - 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0.
Resolution
- Review the keys you plan to use for Service Cost Levels in the SSCUI and identify any that use restricted characters.
- For numeric keys, avoid digits 0, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
- Create or adjust entries to use allowed keys (for example, use numeric digits 1–4 or letters not listed above).
Namespace restriction is applied on the key fields in the application. The customers can create entries other than the following SAP Best practice content namespace restrictions.
- 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 for numeric fields
