3790608 - Apply Selection Appears in Input Control Despite Being Hidden in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

After the QRC3 2026, when using the search functionality within an Input Control in SAP Analytics Cloud, the Apply Selection button continues to display on the screen even after it has been hidden through the Show/Hide Menu.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open or create a story containing an Input Control in SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Access the Input Control's More Actions menu, navigate to Show/Hide, and uncheck the Apply Selection option.
  3. Open the Input Control and enter a search string in the Search field.
  4. Observe that the Apply Selection button becomes visible during the search, despite being hidden in the Show/Hide settings.

Cause

  • This behavior is working as designed and represents an enhancement to the Input Control search functionality.
  • When the Apply Selection button is hidden, it will still appear while a search string is present in the search field. This design ensures that users can explicitly apply their search results to the selection, providing necessary functionality during active search operations.

Resolution

  • No fix is required. This is expected behavior by design.
  • The Apply Selection button will appear during search operations to prevent automatic selection changes. Users must manually click the Apply Selection button to apply the filtered search results to their selection.
