3790691 - Error: "The Available for Apply Planned Time field must be set to No for Time Type, as it is only allowed for Attendance Time Types" when saving Time Profile

When adding a Time Type to a Time Profile or making changes to an existing Time Profile, the system displays the following error:

"The Available for Apply Planned Time field must be set to No for Time Type <Time Type>, as it is only allowed for Attendance Time Types."

This error may occur even when no changes are made to the available Time Types and only other fields in the Time Profile are modified.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Time Management

1. Navigate to Manage Data > Time Profile.
2. Open an existing Time Profile or create a new one.
3. Add a Time Type to the Time Profile or modify any existing field.
4. Click Save.

5. The following error is displayed:

   "The Available for Apply Planned Time field must be set to No for Time Type <Time Type>, as it is only allowed for Attendance Time Types."

• The Available for Apply Planned Time field is supported only for Attendance Time Types.
• If this field is set to Yes for a Time Type whose Time Type Category is Absence, the system validates the configuration when the Time Profile is saved and raises the error.
• In most cases, this occurs because the affected Time Type was originally created as an Attendance Time Type with Available for Apply Planned Time = Yes, and its Time Type Category was later changed to Absence. The value of Available for Apply Planned Time remains Yes, resulting in an inconsistent configuration.
• Since the Available for Apply Planned Time field is displayed only when the Time Type Category is Attendance, it is not visible in the UI after the Time Type Category has been changed to Absence, preventing the value from being corrected through Manage Data.

Update the Available for Apply Planned Time value to False through Import and Export Data.

Step 1: Export the existing records

1. Navigate to Import and Export Data > Export Data.
2. Select Generic Object.
3. Choose Time Profile - Available Time Type.
4. Set Include Dependencies to No.
5. Export and download the file.
6. Locate the affected Time Profile and Time Type records.

Step 2: Prepare the import file

1. Navigate to Import and Export Data > Download Template.
2. Select Generic Object.
3. Choose Time Profile - Available Time Type.
4. Copy the affected records into the template.
5. Set Available for Apply Planned Time to False for the affected Absence Time Types.
6. Save the file.

Step 3: Import the updated records

1. Navigate to Import and Export Data > Import Data.
2. Select Generic Object.
3. Choose Time Profile - Available Time Type.
4. Upload the prepared import file.
5. Complete the import process.

After the import is successful, save the Time Profile again. The validation error should no longer occur.

• Available for Apply Planned Time is supported only for Attendance Time Types.
• The field should always be set to False for Absence Time Types.
• If the field is not visible in Manage Data, use Import and Export Data to correct the configuration.
