3790893 - Only One Billing Document Created for Milestone Billing Plan When Two Are Expected — SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Only one billing document can be created for a sales order with a milestone billing plan while two are expected.

1. Open app VA03 and display a sales order that uses a billing plan.
2. On the item Billing Plan tab, confirm there are two billing dates: one milestone billing and one final invoice, both with the same billing date and open status.
3. Open app Create Billing Documents and search for the sales order.
4. Only one row appears; when create billing, only one billing document is generated containing two items (one per billing plan date).

• The milestone billing date and the final invoice date in the billing plan are identical and the target billing type is the same (F2). The system groups both billing plan dates into a single billing document, creating separate items for each date.

1. If a single billing document with two items is acceptable, no action is needed; the system works as designed.
2. If two separate billing documents are required:

1) Edit the sales order’s billing plan so that the milestone billing date and final invoice date are different.

2) Save the sales order.

3) Access app Create Billing Documents again, search the sales order, two rows in the result for billing.
