3790957 - Continuous Feedback request search shows people who are not included in their permissions

Symptom

In Continuous Feedback request employees can search for people who are not included in the target population of their "Request feedback from others" permission.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Continuous Feedback
  2. Click on Request Feedback
  3. Search for a person, who is not in the target population of your "Request feedback from others" permission
  4. The person appears in the search results

Cause

User search RBP permission includes this person in Target Population and Enhanced People Search is disabled in Company System and Logo Settings.

  • The legacy People Search only checks basic User Search visibility. The real permission check for "Request feedback from others" happens only when you click on Send button, which then fails with the error: "The current recipient is not in target population of RBP [Give Continuous Feedback]."
  • Enhanced People Search uses different search backend. The system checks "Request feedback from others" permission and filters search results by that permission's target population. When the feedback request recipient is not in the requester's target population for this permission, the new API returns an empty result — so the person cannot be found in Feedback Request search.

Resolution

Enable Enhanced People Search in Company System and Logo Settings or remove users from Target Population of your User Search permission.
