Symptom
During testing of scope item 5D2 (advanced intercompany sales), the automatic creation of the intercompany sales order fails with error message "Enter the sold-to party". External sales order is created, and the intercompany purchase order is generated, but the intercompany sales order creation stops with the error in the app "Monitor value chain".
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create the sales order to start the "Advanced Intercompany Sales" process.
- System auto creates the purchase order from the previously created sales order.
- System should auto create the intercompany sales order, but it did not.
- Check the app "Monitor Value Chains". Error "Enter the sold-to party" can be seen inside the message log
Cause
The error is caused by the missing customer master assignment for the transit plant in configuration. The customer assigned to the plant is used as the sold-to party in the intercompany sales order and in the intercompany customer invoice in the delivering company.
Resolution
Please refer the setup instruction of the 5D2 process and make sure the customer data is correctly maintained for the transit plant:
- Open the configuration activity "Define Shipping Data for Plants (ID 101926)".
- Select the relevant transit plant used in the advanced intercompany sales process.
- In field "Customer No Plant", assign the appropriate customer number to the plant.
- Save the changes.
