Symptom
When creating a label via New Labels from warehouse task, the label renders in English regardless of logon language.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Logon the ByDesign system in relevant language
- Go to Inbound Logistics work center.
- Go to Task Control view.
- Search for the task ABC (ABC represents Task ID).
- Choose New Labels.
- Choose the relevant label template.
- Choose Save and Close.
- Open Labels Under Common Tasks.
- Search and select the label which is newly created.
- Choose Preview.
- The label content displays in English instead of the expected language.
Cause
- The system determines the label language from the Preferred Language (Correspondence Language) of the involved Business Partner.
- When this Communication language field is set to English, the system sets the Form Language Code to English prior to XML generation, overriding the logon language.
- The template language is considered only if the communication language is not maintained in the Business Partner master data.
- This is standard system behavior.
Resolution
Remove or change the communication language in the Business Partner master data. Create a new label to apply the correct language.
- Go to Business Partner Data work center.
- Go to Business Partners View.
- Search the relevant Business Partner ID.
- Choose Edit.
- Choose General.
- Under Main communication remove or change the English in the language field.
- Choose Save.
- Create a new label.
- The label preview displays in the expected language.
Note: This correction applies only to new labels. Existing labels cannot be changed retroactively.
