3791135 - Cannot add backend catalog to a role

Symptom

When attempting to add a backend technical catalog (following the naming pattern *TC_*BE_*, e.g. SAP_TC_<COMPONENT>_BE_APPS) to a role in transaction PFCG, the following error is displayed:

  • Catalog <SAP_TC_*_BE_APPS> does not exist
  • The issue occurs after attempting to replicate the catalog using report /UI2/GET_APP_DESCR_REMOTE_DEV in transaction SE38 with the backend system alias and the technical catalog ID, followed by cache invalidation via /ui2/invalidate_client_caches. Despite successful replication, the catalog still cannot be assigned to a role and the error persists.
