1. Trigger a workflow for user using Position Relationship as Approver Type
2. Workflow is either being skipped or completed after first steps;

Position Relationship is skipped because no approver can be determined. This occurs when the target position is not yet active at the time the workflow is processed, preventing the workflow engine from retrieving the required position data and the workflow’s “No Approver Behaviour” was set to “Skip this Step”, resulting in the second step being skipped when no approver was found.

1. Ensure the target position is active on or before the date the workflow is processed (for example, the approval date or effective date), so position relationships are available to identify approvers.
2. After correcting the position’s effective status, re-initiate the transfer/workflow if required and verify that the approver is derived as expected.
