- Screen reader users cannot identify the filter options as checkboxes, affecting efficient filtering and overall usability.
Note: Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Turn on screen-reader (i.e. NVDA, JAWS)
- Navigate to Learning > Browse Library
- Go to Filters panel
- Move focus to the filter options presented as checkboxes under each section.
- Observe that the screen-reader does not announce the checkboxes as “checkbox”
Cause
Outdated third-party UI5 components library version, leading to incorrect exposure of the checkbox to screen readers. The components library is used by LMS to render the checkbox.
Resolution
The upgrade of the third-party ui5 component library version resolves the accessibility issue on 2H 2026 release (Preview: October 12, Production: November 13 - 14). The filters - checkbox is now being read correctly by the screen-reader.
