3792429 - Public dimension import fails with error 5021 import to model has failed while updating the dimension members in Sap Analytics Cloud

• Importing data to a public dimension fails with: "Import to model has failed while updating the dimension members. Error code: 5021".
• When importing DAC properties to a public dimension, the import job may fail with error 5021 if the imported DAC value is longer than 256 characters.

SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.14.12 

1. Log on to the tenant.
2. Open the target planning model and navigate to the specific public dimension’s Data Management.
3. Start a new import and choose Data Source.
4. Select the relevant Data Source as S/4HANA import data connection.
5. Select the required objects/fields.
6. Confirm the data preview/upload.
7. Set up the import and complete the mapping for the dimension.
8. Run the import; the process fails with error code 5021.

The case is currently under investigation by development group.
