3792531 - Cost posting to Investment WBS fails with "No asset under construction assigned" when AuC is missing - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When posting costs to an existing investment WBS element with an investment profile but without an Asset Under Construction (AuC), the system issues the error: "No asset under construction assigned to WBS element".
• The same WBS element had allowed postings earlier without an AuC but is now blocked.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Post costs to an existing investment WBS element that has an investment profile assigned but no AuC.
2. Observe the error: "No asset under construction assigned to WBS element".

A new validation was introduced in a recent release (around upgrade 2602). This validation blocks cost postings to investment WBS elements if the AuC is missing to avoid inconsistencies.

1. Remove the investment profile from the affected WBS element and add it again. This action triggers creation/assignment of the missing AuC for the WBS Element.
2. After the AuC is created, retry the cost posting.
