3792627 - Numeric-Only Product Not Returned in Product Value Help in Manage Sales Quotations – Version 2 in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

In the Manage Sales Quotations – Version 2 app, the Product value help at item level may not return the expected product when the product number contains digits only.

For example, searching for:

123456789

may return related alphanumeric products such as:

123456789A
123456789B

while the exact numeric-only product 123456789 is missing from the standard search results.

The product may still exist in Product Master Data and may be selectable in other applications or search helps.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Manage Sales Quotations – Version 2.
2. Create or edit a sales quotation.
3. Add a new item.
4. Open the value help for the Product field.

5. Enter a product number containing digits only, for example:

   123456789

6. Execute the search.

Expected Result

The exact numeric-only product is returned in the Product value-help results.

Actual Result

The exact numeric-only product is not returned, although related alphanumeric products may be displayed.

This behavior is caused by a known limitation in the search handling for numeric-only product numbers in the Product value help used by Manage Sales Quotations – Version 2.

The quotation Product value help uses the backend entity:

C_SlsQtanProdBySlsOrgDistrChnl

The standard search processing for product/material numbers does not handle numeric-only product values in the same way as an alphanumeric search conversion. As a result, a numeric-only product may not be matched correctly by the standard search expression.

A correction for the Product search help has been completed and is planned for delivery with:

CFD 2608.2

The correction is planned to be deployed to customer systems with the corresponding CFD rollout.

Workaround

Until the correction is available:

1. Open the Product value help.
2. Choose Show Filters.
3. Use the dedicated Product filter field.
4. Enter the required numeric-only product number.
5. Select the product directly from the type-ahead suggestions displayed for the Product field.

This allows the numeric-only product to be selected even when it is not returned by the standard value-help search.
