3792755 - Getting udzero_out and sddone error message in ASE error log - ASE

Symptom

  • The following error is reported in the ASE error log

udzero_out: attempt to write page 28604743 on device '<DEVICE PATH>' failed, system error is: Success
sddone: write error on virtual disk 481 block 14302720:

  • ASE has the fixes for the following CR 830688 - Provide a mechanism to prevent sparse files from being created when a device resides on a tmpfs filesystem.
  • ASE total memory + tmpfs devices exceed total memory allocated to host
  • After failure to initialize tempfs device database data and log devices fail with the following error

840, Severity: 17, State: 2
server  Device '<DEVICE> ' (with physical name '<DEVICE PATH>', and virtual device number 516) has not been correctly activated at startup time.  Please contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role.

  • ASE databases fail to recover and report the following error

Error: 921, Severity: 14, State: 1
Database '<DATABASE>' has not been recovered yet - please wait and try again.
