3793090 - GTINs Show "Out of Sync" Status with "Access Denied" Error During Message Exchange in SAP Traceability Hub

Symptom

  • GTINs display Out of Sync status in the application.
  • Message processing failed with error: "access denied".
  • Issue observed for multiple GTINs.
  • The issue may occur for multiple GTINs associated with the same trading partner.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the View Lookup Directory in the DSCSA Portal - https://dscsa.ich4ls.cloud.sap/site#Shell-home
  2. Monitor product identifier synchronization or message status.
  3. Locate the affected GTINs.
  4. Observe that the GTINs are displayed with an Out of Sync status.
  5. Review the message processing details for the affected records.
  6. The error message "Access Denied" is displayed.

Cause

The synchronization requests are rejected during message exchange because the external trading partner has not updated the required SAP certificates on their systems.

As a result, authentication fails and the synchronization messages cannot be processed successfully, causing the affected GTINs to remain in an Out of Sync state.

Resolution

  1. Verify that the affected GTINs are in "Out of Sync" status.
  2. Review the message details and confirm that the failure reason is: "access denied"
  3. Validate the certificate configuration used for message exchange between SAP Traceability Hub and the external trading partner.
  4. Confirm that the required SAP certificates installed on the partner side are current and have not expired.
  5. Coordinate with the external partner to:
    • Update the SAP certificates.
    • Install the latest certificates if they are missing.
    • Verify successful certificate configuration on their system.
  6. After the certificate update is completed:
    • Reinitiate synchronization for the affected GTINs, or
    • Reprocess the failed messages, as applicable.
  7. Monitor message processing and verify that:
    • The synchronization completes successfully.
    • The GTINs no longer show an Out of Sync status.
    • No additional Access Denied errors are generated.
