3793246 - RBP Static Group Membership change audit report remains in "Running" Status and Eventually Fails

• Not possible to generate the RBP Static Group Membership Change Audit Report.
• The report remains in "In Progress" status for several hours before ultimately failing in the instance . 
• RBP Static Group Membership Change Audit is stuck in Progress and eventually fails.

1. Go to Change Audit Reports.
2. Select Create Configuration Data Report.
3. Choose Role-Based Permissions
4. Select the report type: RBP Static Group Membership Change Audit Report.
5. Set the date range from June 1 to June 30.
6. Click Submit.
7. After submitting, navigate to Access Reports to check the report progress.
8. Report is stuck and eventually fails 

Our Engineering team has identified that the RBP Static Group Membership Report job may fail when the selected time range contains an exceptionally large volume of RBP audit data.

The data volume can vary significantly between tenants and between different time ranges within the same tenant. Reports covering lower-volume periods can complete successfully, while reports covering higher-volume periods may cause the job to time out and fail.

The high volume may accumulate across multiple days or be concentrated on specific dates. As a result, the report may complete successfully for some time ranges but fail for others within the same tenant.

Recommended Workaround

To successfully retrieve the report data, we recommend running the report using smaller time ranges and progressively reduce the interval if the report fails:

• Start with a time range of up to 3 days.
• If the report fails, retry the affected period using a 1-day range.
• If the 1-day report still fails, split the day into the following three 8-hour UTC ranges:
  • 00:00–07:59 UTC
  • 08:00–15:59 UTC
  • 16:00–23:59 UTC

 Important: If any of the 8-hour queries still fail or time out, please further reduce the query interval to 4 hours.
