3793406 - Competencies are not displaying correctly in LMS

• When searching for competencies under Menu > Learning Activities > Competencies, the Japanese text in the Description field of all competencies is replaced with "?" characters corresponding to the number of characters.
• When viewing the Manage Center of Capabilities, the Japanese labels are displayed correctly.
• No errors are occurring in the Competency Connector - SF. 

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

• Navigate to Menu > Learning Activities > Competencies. - Search for competencies and open any record.
• Observe that the Japanese text in the Description field appears as a series of "?" characters.
• Open Manage Center of Capabilities and observe that Japanese labels there display correctly. 

 Incorrect character encoding in Competency Library Export Provisioning job set up: Western European Languages.

To resolve the issue, update the character encoding of the Competency Library Export job to UTF-8.

Steps:

• Navigate to Provisioning → Manage Scheduled Jobs.
• Open the Competency Library Export job.
• Locate the Character Encoding setting.
• 
• Change the encoding from Western European Languages to UTF-8.
• Save the changes.
• Run the job again and verify that the Japanese labels are displayed correctly in the Competency Connector input file.
