3793486 - Product type cannot be updated or existing Product type is changed after S/4HANA upgrade

Symptom

  • The EBAN-PRODUCTTYPE field is not updated when creating/changing a Purchase Requisition using BAPI_PR_CREATE / BAPI_PR_CHANGE.
  • The EKPO-PRODUCTTYPE field is automatically updated in the background when making changes to a Purchase Order
  • The behavior started after an upgrade to S/4HANA.
