3793492 - SAC Report performance slower for initial run than subsequent ones

Symptom

There is a need to know why a SAC (SAP Analytics Cloud) report is performing slower on the first run than others. 

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  • Navigate to report in question.
  • Interact with it.
  • Observe the processing time - either with a stopwatch or via the GetResponse processing time found in the 'Network' tab in Developer Tools.
  • Run the same report a second time. 
  • Notice the 2nd load is faster than the first.

Cause

Expected behaviour due to MDS Cube Cache.

Resolution

This behaviour occurs due to the MDS Cube Cache. It caches the results of aggregation and calculation after required post-processing has been performed.

That is the reason the subsequent loads take less time than the first.
