Symptom
Scenario:
The New (Reimagined) Candidate Experience feature is enabled in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management.
A delay for disqualification email notifications has been configured via Admin Center → Manage Recruiting Settings → Delay Emails to Disqualified Candidates
Issue:
Upon disqualification, the candidate can immediately see their application listed under the "Inactive" category in the candidate portal — even though the disqualification email notification has not yet been delivered
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
This is a known design limitation.
As soon as a disqualification event occurs, the system immediately moves the application to the "Inactive" category. The system is not designed to synchronize the candidate-facing application status with the delayed disqualification email notification.
The application categorization as "Inactive" and the email delivery are two independent processes: the status update is instantaneous, while the email is governed by the delay job (Candidate Status Mail Delay Quartz job, which runs every 30 minutes and checks for candidates whose disqualification occurred "x" hours ago).
There is no configuration or workaround available to hold the "Inactive" status display until the email is sent, this behavior is by design and is not treated as a defect.
