Symptom
In Mass Data Management for Position mass changes, selecting multiple values in the Matrix Position filter returns a different count when the same position values are chosen as a filter in a different order. The filter appears to respect only the first selected matrix position value.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Mass Data Management (Mass Change for Position)
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Mass Data Management and start a Position mass change
- Adapt Filters and enable the Matrix Position filter
- Select multiple matrix positions (for example, positions A, B, C) in a given order and apply the filters; note the number of returned positions
- Clear all filters, select the same set of positions in a different order (for example, B, C, A), and apply the filters; observe that the returned count differs
Cause
The Matrix Position filter currently supports only a single position value. When multiple values are selected, the system effectively evaluates only the first selected value.
Resolution
The Engineering team have created an enhancement (JIRA Reference#ECT-276775) to support multiple matrix position values. This is planned to be deployed in the 1H 2027 release.
Workaround:
Until the enhancement is deployed, use a single matrix position value in the Matrix Position filter, run the mass change, and repeat for each additional position as needed.
