• Expenses on Work Packages cannot be edited when the business role restriction “Confidential Project = N” is applied.
• Access works only when the restriction is set to Unrestricted or when the user is added to the project’s Responsibilities.
• Error message: “You are not authorized for this task.”
• Other project and Work Package fields remain editable under the same restriction.

1. Maintain a business role for Restriction Type ID PPM_PRJ and set Confidential Project = N.
2. Assign the business role to a user.
3. Edit a Work Package for Public Project.
4. Attempt to change an Expense on the Work Package.
5. Observe the error: “You are not authorized for this task.”.

Software error.

1. Correction will be delivered with S/4HANA Cloud Release 2608 CFD-2 and the approximate date of arrival is on 11.10.2026.
2. As a temporary workaround, add the user to the project’s Responsibilities so changes to expenses on Work Packages are permitted.
