3793883 - Late payment interest does not start at net due date + 45 days; tolerance/transfer days not applied in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Interest calculation on late payments does not consider an additional 45 days after the net due date when values are entered in Tolerance Days or Transfer Days in the interest indicator.
• Business requirement is to start charging interest from net due date plus 45 days.
• Entering 45 in Tolerance Days and Transfer Days has no effect on interest amounts.
• Issue observed in both dunning notice interest and in Manage Customer Interest runs.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Maintain Tolerance Days or Transfer Days in an interest indicator.
2. Open the Manage Business Partner Master Data .
3. Assign the interest indicator to the business partner account.
4. Open Create Outgoing Invoices (FB70) and create an outgoing invoice and ensure it becomes overdue (for example: by backdating so it is past net due date).
5. Create a dunning notice.
6. Observe that the dunning notice interest does not consider the additional 45 days.
7. Schedule and run Manage Customer Interest.
8. Observe that the interest run does not consider the additional 45 days.

• By design, Tolerance Days determine whether interest should be charged at all (for small overdue periods) and do not postpone the interest start date.
• By design, Transfer Days are used for transferring open items between interest periods and do not shift the interest calculation base date.
• The interest calculation baseline remains the receivable’s net due date; adding a fixed grace period (for example, +45 days) before interest starts is not supported in standard configuration for Public Cloud.

1. Tolerance Days and Transfer Days do not delay the interest calculation start date and this is the expected system behavior
2. Note that calculating interest from “Net Due Date + 45 days” is not supported via standard configuration or extensibility in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
