3793962 - Error message "Number of serial numbers does not correspond with quantity in item" during picking warehouse task creation - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Picking warehouse task cannot be created for an outbound delivery.
• Error message "Number of serial numbers does not correspond with quantity in item", message no. /SCWM/SERIAL012.
• In the Manage Outbound Delivery Orders app, choosing "Create Warehouse Tasks for Picking" shows processing and then returns without creating tasks or showing an error.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the app Manage Outbound Delivery Orders.
2. Filter for the relevant warehouse number and outbound delivery document.
3. Select the delivery and choose Create Warehouse Tasks for Picking.
4. Observe that the system returns to the list without creating a warehouse task and without an error message.
5. Optionally, attempt creation via Warehouse Management Monitor and observe the error "Number of serial numbers does not correspond with quantity in item".

The warehouse process type used for picking has Confirm Immediately (and Propose Confirmation) enabled, which attempts to auto-confirm the picking task; for serial-number-managed items, serial numbers are not yet assigned at task creation, causing the error "Number of serial numbers does not correspond with quantity in item".

1. Open the configuration activity Define Warehouse Process Type.
2. Identify the warehouse process type and source storage type used for picking.
3. Deselect the Confirm Immediately checkbox (and adjust Propose Confirmation if not required).
4. Save the changes and test creating picking warehouse tasks again.
