• Does SAP Datasphere have the ability to use the Natural Language Processing (NLP) functionality available from the HANA Database?

• Product: SAP Datasphere (Version: 2026.17)

• Currently the NLP functionality from HANA is not available to use within SAP Datasphere.
• At this time, the only HANA related functionality that can be used within Datasphere would be the 'SAP HANA Automated Predictive Library (APL)' and 'SAP HANA Predictive Analysis Library (PAL)' machine learning libraries.
  • As documented within the SAP Datasphere online help 'Enable the SAP HANA Cloud Script Server on Your SAP Datasphere Tenant'
    
    

• The NLP feature is being reviewed by the developers to determine if this functionality can be added to a future release of Datasphere.
  • There is currently no timeframe set for when this functionality could be made available within Datasphere.
    
    
• Once this feature is added to Datasphere, this KBA will be updated to provide reference on how to enable/access the NLP functionality from HANA within Datasphere.
