3795186 - Error happens when editing purchase order in manage purchase orders: "Materials with phantom assembly are not supported for subcontracting" SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• An error occurs when attempting to change a purchase order from the Manage Purchase Orders screen.
• Error message: "Materials with phantom assembly are not supported for subcontracting".
• The purchase order includes a subcontracting item with phantom components.

1. Create a new purchase order in the Create Purchase Orders - Advanced.
2. Specify a subcontracting item that includes phantom components.
3. Save the purchase order.
4. Open the saved purchase order and choose Edit.
5. The error "Materials with phantom assembly are not supported for subcontracting" appears and changes cannot be saved.

The Manage Purchase Orders app (F0842A) does not support editing purchase orders that contain subcontracting items with phantom assemblies; this behavior is by design.

1. Use a supported GUI-based purchase order change application Change Purchase Order - Advanced to edit purchase orders that contain subcontracting items with phantom assemblies.
2. Alternatively, when using the Manage Purchase Orders app (F0842A), avoid scenarios where a subcontracting item includes phantom assemblies.
