Symptom
Duplicate line items are generated automatically in the Goods and Services Receipt for the same Purchase Order item, resulting in the total received quantity appearing doubled.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Goods and Services Receipt Work center.
- Go to Receipts and Returns view.
- Select All Documents from the drop-down.
- Search for Goods and Services Receipt XYZ (XYZ represents Goods and Services Receipt ID).
- Select Edit.
- Go to Items tab.
- Select the Items of ABC-D ( ABC refers to Purchase Order ID and D refers to Item ID of Purchase Order ABC).
Here the same Item ABC-D appears twice with the same ordered quantity in Goods and Services Receipt XYZ .
Cause
When a Purchase Order item has multiple Account Assignment Details (for example, multiple Cost Centers with Percentage distribution), the system creates separate Goods and Services Receipt Item lines for each Account Assignment split.
To check the Account Assignment details, follow the below steps:
- Go to Purchase Requests and Orders work center.
- Go to the Purchase Orders view.
- Search for Purchase Order ABC (ABC represents Purchase Order ID).
- Go to Items tab.
- Select Item D which is of Process Type ,Non-Stock. (For example: Item D has ordered quantity as 5) .
- Select Account Assignment sub-tab.
The Account Assignment Type is Cost Center and has two Cost Centers are assigned to it with Percentage distribution. ( Ex: Cost Center X - 60%; Cost Center Y - 40%).
Resolution
This is the standard system behavior.
