3795524 - Mass Changes to Purchase Contracts (F2669) shows 'item category 3 not supported' – SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

When uploading the Excel template in the Mass Changes to Purchase Contracts app (F2669), changes to subcontracting items fail with the error message "Item category 3 not supported".

Manually deleting or modifying subcontract line items in ME32K works.
