3795551 - Submitter can approve own group journal entry despite “initiator cannot be approver” rule after 2508

The submitter can approve their own Group Journal Entry although the “initiator cannot be approver” behavior is expected from release 2508 onward.

System allows posting after self-approval; no error message is raised when the initiator is the only recipient.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. In Post Group Journal Entries or Import Group Journal Entries, a user submits a Group Journal Entry that starts a workflow.
2. The same user receives the approval task and approves their own entry.
3. The document is approved and posted successfully.

The “submitter is excluded as processor” rule is applied only to newly created workflow definitions in the Manage Workflows for Group Journal Entries app (F6164). Existing or copied workflow definitions do not automatically adopt this rule.

Create an new Workflow and test it again.
