3795748 - CE2608 - Introduction of Configurable Depreciation Profiles - SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition

Instead of the previously predefined depreciation keys, SAP now provides configurable depreciation profiles. Pilot customers can already use the configurable depreciation profiles in this release; all other customers can already see the depreciation profiles on the UI. In a later release, the previous depreciation keys will be completely replaced by configurable depreciation profiles for all customers. 

Limited availability: The feature is only available for pilot customers.

• To become a pilot customer, SAP must agree to your request. You must then activate the depreciation profile feature.

• For all other customers (non-pilot customers), if you do not yet activate the depreciation profile feature, you use your depreciation keys as before.

• Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 

If you want to use the depreciation profiles in release 2608, you must do the following to become a pilot customer:

• a) Create a support case to ask SAP to enable you for the depreciation profiles with the following parameters:

  • Support component: FI-AA-AA

  • Priority: Medium

  • Subject: Request for Depreciation Profiles

  • • Referenced system:
      • By default, you specify the production system (system type PROD).
      • If you only have one starter system, you specify your starter system.
      • If you only have one partner demo system, you specify your partner demo system.
      • If you have an ordinary system landscape but do not yet have a production system, but only a test system, you specify the test system.

  SAP then checks if your system is ready to switch to the depreciation profiles.

  (A possible rejection reason could be that your country is not yet technically enabled for the depreciation profiles.)

• b) Provided that SAP has approved your request, SAP asks you to recalculate depreciation. Furthermore, you need to check whether you have processes or rules (for example, validation rules) in which you need to replace depreciation keys with depreciation profiles.
• c) You activate the feature Introduction of configurable depreciation profiles (FAA_DEPRECIATION_PROFILE) in the configuration activity Activate Features (106573).
