3796071 - AADSTS7000215 – Invalid Client Secret in OAuth 2.0 Token Request via SOAUTH2_CLIENT

Symptom

When attempting to request an OAuth 2.0 token in transaction SOAUTH2_CLIENT using a Client Credentials grant type, the token request fails with the following error:

"OAuth 2.0 Protocol Error

The access token request failed with the following error response from the OAuth 2.0 server:

Client authentication failed (e.g., unknown client, no client authentication included, ...)
Error: invalid_client
Error Description: AADSTS7000215: Invalid client secret provided. Ensure the secret being sent
in the request is the client secret value, not the client secret ID, for a secret added to
app '<Client-ID>'. Trace ID: <trace-id>"
