3796086 - Data Discrepancy in Inventory Ageing Report and Inventory Balance Report

Ending quantity mismatch occurs when comparing Inventory Ageing and Inventory Balance reports on the same Actual Execution Date . 

SAP Business ByDesign

To open Inventory Balance Report:

1. Go to Business Analytics work center.
2. Go to Design Reports view.
3. Search and open the report Inventory Balance.
4. Enter the Product ID ABC and Actual Execution On (Date): DD-MM-YYYY
5. Choose Apply
   The Ending Quantity is displayed 

To open Inventory Ageing Report:

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Go to Design Reports view.
3. Search and open the report Inventory Ageing.
4. Enter the Product ID ABC and Actual Execution On (Date): DD-MM-YYYY
5. Choose Apply
   The Quantity displayed does not match with the Ending Quantity in Inventory Balance Report

(where ABC represents the Product ID and DD-MM-YYYY represents the Actual Execution On (Date))

• The reports use different calculation logic and serve different purposes.
• Inventory Ageing classifies current stock by receipt age as of the Actual Execution Date, while Inventory Balance shows stock on hand stock as of the Actual Execution Date without ageing logic.
• Both Inventory Ageing Report and Inventory Balance Report cannot be compared.

This is the expected system behavior.
