3796159 - Cannot cancel Edit Lock in Cost Center Hierarchy in Parallel Customizing system - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When attempting to edit a cost center hierarchy in Parallel Customizing system, the application reports it is locked by a user who does not exist in the current environment.
• Selecting the option to cancel the lock results in an error and the lock remains in place.
• The issue persists even after discarding drafts and performing a Rebase from Main line to Parallel line.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Manage Global Hierarchies and select the Cost Center Hierarchy.
2. Click Edit; the app indicates the hierarchy is locked by an unknown user.
3. Choose Cancel Lock; error "Cannot cancel editing because this hierarchy is locked by " appears and the lock is not removed.

When a Cost Center Hierarchy is copied from Main line to Parallel line, the Edit lock and Last Changed time is also replicated. It is possible to cancel edit two hours after the Last Changed Time.

A recent rebase can update the hierarchy’s last edit time. The system requires both the lock time and the last edit time to be older than two hours before it allows cancelling the lock. Because the last edit time was within two hours, cancelling the lock failed and the “locked by” information (copied during rebase) persisted.

1. Wait until at least two hours have elapsed since the last edit to the hierarchy (for example, after a recent rebase).
2. Open the hierarchy, choose Edit, and when prompted, select the option to cancel the lock.
