3796460 - Substitute credit not granted for copied item

When an item with substitutes is copied, any user that had previously completed one of the substitute items does not receive the substitute completion on the copied item.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Access Learning Administration >
2. Go to Activities > Items and locate an item that has substitutes configured >
3. From the Actions menu, select Copy >
4. Select Copy Substitutes Data and complete the copy >
5. Open the copied item and go to the Substitutes tab >
6. Confirm the substitute is present, Valid, and with no Effective Date if used >
7. Go to People > Users and find a user who completed the substitute item before the copy date >
8. Open the user’s Completed Items >
9. Observe the copied base item completion is not present.

Copying an item carries over the substitute configuration but does not initiate the background process that evaluates historical completions. Therefore, only completions of the substitute recorded after the copy are credited to the copied item.

1. Open the copied item and go to the Substitutes tab >
2. Remove each substitute entry that should grant credit on the copied item >
3. When prompted, choose Remove historical records and confirm >
4. Re-add each substitute item >
5. Allow the background job to complete >
6. Verify historical substitute completions now grant credit on the copied item for affected users.
